Site Description: 

The dataset prepared in this package relates to the publication "Experimental parameter study for passive vortex generators on a 30% thick airfoil". Pressure data over the surface of the DU97W300 airfoil is collected at a Reynolds number of 2 million, for 41 different vortex generator configurations. These cases are described in a README accompanying this data. The sensitivities to the different vortex generator parameters and analysis of further results can be found in the article which will appear in the Wind Energy journal.

Instrumentation: 

Pressure measurements were conducted using electronic pressure scanners with pressure taps covering the airfoil model and in the wake using a traversable wake-rake. Surface flow visualisations were performed using oil-dye visualisation techniques. Boundary layer measurements were conducted using a traversable total pressure probe.

Measurement Campaign: 

Experiments were conducted in May and September 2016 in the Low Turbulence Tunnel at Delft University of Technology.
